We offer universities the opportunity to provide their autistic students with a tailored employability programme. It is designed to be interactive, consisting of pre-recorded webinars, live talks from the Next Steps Foundation and guest interviews with employers. The programme includes:
- Advice and mentoring
- Work experience opportunities
- Interview preparation and practice
- Soft skills training (e.g. confidence and communication)
- Onboarding support in a new role, if appropriate
In the first four weeks of participating in the programme, students are walked through the general process of job hunting step-by-step, with opportunities for feedback and questions. The last eight weeks of the programme require the students to take action, by completing set tasks and employment related activities.
Our team is available to follow up with students each week to monitor their progress throughout the programme. Where appropriate, students also have the chance to apply for work experience placements and graduate roles being advertised by partners of the Next Steps Foundation.
